Umm...................I didn't make my high school basketball team for the second straight year. I'm fucking confused at the situation right now. I busted my ass everyday, I practiced so damn much I could have made A.I. respect my grind, and I became better on another level at every aspect of the game and I still didn't strach the surface. I know I can play with those guys and I proved it with my swagger at try-outs. But the coach has it out for me and I know this. But you know what? This is the greatest motivation for me yall. I have created a simple hit list of all the mothafuckers who will receive the wrath the the Bachi. This is what I label myself as when I am f*ckin on in the gym. Sort of like Hibachi but it is like Hibachi 2.0. This summer I truly don't give a fuck for anything, I am whooping ass and taking names 24/7 days a fucking week. I feel like I disappointed myself and I will succeed and stand NO MATTER WHAT like my boy T.I. I have discovered my purpose in life by just thinking 2day in the gym by myself: to prove every mothafucker who thought I was dead wrong. And I know for a damn fact this is not a threat anymore: people be cautious of the Hibachi because he just might burn your ass. I'm sorry mama in advance but I got to get em. DP out. play wit it fuckers.
by the way my blog will be the shit this summer so check in more often peeps.

What's the weakest point of your game?Whatever it is work on that the most.Regardless of anything work the most on D.Live in the gym,get your foot speed right. In basketball speed is more important than bulk, concentrate on plyometrics. When you play in open runs or AAU or whatever try and defend the opponents best and make life hell for him.Coaches are usually looking for hard work rather than lazy talent.Just work fucking hard.
thanks for the advice AR. I've been working on my plyometrics lately and I've been running like Rip Hamilton.
Hey DP, Joel O's from the SlamOnline boards here. Good luck next year, man. I didn't make my high school team the year after being the leading scorer - cuz I stopped growing and couldn't play big forward anymore.
Not making the team the next year really sucked, but I changed my game to suit my (lack of) height, got a three point shot and it really helped me out a lot - I was team captain the very next year. I really busted my ass that summer, gained some vertical, and expanded my 3-point shooting range.
Beyond what ar said though, I think if you can't make the team this year yet, you should look to focus at getting really really good at one thing first. This at least makes you a really good role player with a definite role/purpose on a team. Kinda like how guys like Brent Barry, Jason Maxiell, Ronny Turiaf etc. are mainstays on super-deep NBA teams. Think about what you can do - can you be a go-to steady reserve pg? A deadly 3 point threat? A crazy hustle guy? If you can be just one of these, your coach'll have a hard time not picking you next year. And once you've got one foot into the team, you have all of the season to gain experience and diversify your skills.
Good luck, man.
This is funny. How have I missed this blog for so long? Cut from your high school team? Working hard but can't make a dent? Hmmm.....sounds like the greatest basketball player in history's high school start. And no it's not your boy, who went through private school and was catered to hand and foot. DP, regardless of what AR says, speed is not the end all be all in basketball. The D is important as he noted, also concenterate in the fundamentals. Boxing out on rebounds, setting solid screens, learning the pass and finish aspects of the pick and roll, keep your free throw game tight, know rotations and spacing in zone defenses both offensivley and defensivley. Too many young dudes are worried about flashy handles and deep ball shooting. Being efficient with the dribble and having a strong mid range game are incredibly important. Want to impress your coach, work down on the blocks like your boy Kobe does or The Robot or Michael perfected and get one or two post moves that you can score from. You'll be a weapon he can pull out that is unexpected. Trust me.
Thanks for the love guys. This is the greatest advice I have received from anyone besides my moms. I working really hard and I know it will pay off in the end. AR? private school? I think if I were to go to a private school down here in Mississippi, I would average like 22 a game. no freakin lie. soft ball. Not saying your school wasn't hype, AR.
I meant Kobe, DP!!! AR was schooled in the art of brewing and hangover relief.
Eboy:We've been through this,I don't drink beer and I've only tried to make it once, but that wasn't a serious endeavour.ANYWAY,yeah I didn't go to private school, far from it,nor did I ball in school.
LMAO, my bad AR. Kobe was still a beast in high school, Ebizzle, and you know this. Look on youtube and check out the McD's all-american footage. classic.
It is enjoyable that AR tried making beer, though.
